A fantastic one day workshop for Y4-6 teachers and support staff, guiding you through each of the concepts that underpin the Computing Curriculum Programme of Study. The day will provide you with a range of resources, including unplugged activities that you can easily adapt to the classroom. It will explore the concepts in further detail through the creation of mini- Scratch projects.


GCSE (9-11) Physics for Newbies 

KS4 TEACHERS

“Specialist” Physics teachers are a rare breed. It is increasingly common in schools for GCSE Physics lessons to be taught by “non-specialists”. This can be a very good thing: confident non-specialists with a toolkit of Physics teaching strategies can often make the best Physics teachers! This whole day session looks at the topics that non-specialists often find the most challenging to teach and provides some effective, tried and tested suggestions on how to teach them.

Tailored to the new GCSE Combined Science/Physics curriculum, the session covers;

  • How to tackle equations and calculations

  • Planning and delivering a linear curriculum and embedding long term retention

  • Strategies and activities for tackling tricky topics such as Electricity, Radioactivity, Forces and Energy

  • Revision strategies and how to tackle the new exams.

The new GCSE Science/Physics curriculum brings some new challenges for experienced Physics teachers and NQT/RQT/non-specialists alike. These 90 minute sessions focus on individual topics, the potential pitfalls and strategies for delivering them effectively.

Learn WordPress

A one day workshop designed to teach you how to build, add content to and manage a WordPress based website from a non- technical background. The day will cover: an introduction to WordPress, planning of a site, installation, setup, themes, pages and posts, creating content, adding media, menu's, widgets and plugins as well as reviewing and maintaining.
