hi-impact began in 2008 from a shared vision and ambition of how effective technology use in the classroom improved outcomes. While digital tools were becoming more common, the support around them was often unsustainable, poorly aligned to the realities of education and left teachers feeling dependent rather than empowered. Technology was adding pressure, not relieving it and too rarely improving teaching and learning in meaningful ways.

From the start, hi-impact was driven by the needs of schools and teachers. The focus was on helping staff feel confident, capable and in control of the technology they were expected to use. This was never about introducing more tools. It was about reducing complexity, supporting day-to-day practice and ensuring technology genuinely worked for the people using it in classrooms and across schools.

Our aim was clear: to use technology to improve teaching and learning in ways that were sustainable, practical and rooted in real school life. That aim was first put into practice in a single school, shaped by real pupils, real pressures and limited time.

Those early experiences mattered because they shaped an approach built around what schools actually need: clarity rather than confusion, support that builds capability rather than dependency and systems that teachers can understand, manage and sustain themselves.

What started with technology in the classroom to improve teaching and learning expanded into whole-school digital strategy, technical infrastructure, connectivity, safeguarding and staff development. hi-impact grew by responding to the challenges schools were facing, designing support that fitted within existing workloads and helped staff work more effectively, not harder.

That way of working continues today. As hi-impact supports more schools, trusts and industry partners, the principles remain the same. We work alongside leadership and staff teams, take time to understand context and focus on solutions that create long-term confidence, ownership and impact.

Our Story

As hi-impact grows, opportunities continue to emerge to support education beyond individual schools. Partnerships form, collaborations deepen and the scale of our work extends across the UK and internationally.

Through its work with schools, trusts and partners, hi-impact is guided by a strong conviction that education is strengthened when learning, collaboration and inspiration extend beyond the walls of a single classroom.

In 2022, hi-impact launched STEM Live to inspire every child, one lesson at a time, by connecting classrooms and homes with real-world STEM experiences. Since then, STEM Live has reached over 750,000 children across more than 25 countries, extending access to high-quality STEM learning well beyond geographical boundaries.

This sits alongside the BRILLIANT Festival, launched in 2023, which brings educators, trusts, industry partners and innovators together around a shared mission: to empower educators, strengthen teaching and learning and equip young people with the skills, confidence and mindset they need for the future. BRILLIANT creates space for honest conversation, shared practice and collaboration, supporting a generation of educators and students to think differently, solve problems and shape what comes next for education.

As hi-impact expands its reach and influence, this work remains guided by clear values, strong relationships and a responsibility to education that sits at the heart of every decision.

Driven by a shared passion and a clear commitment to making real change in education, the hi-impact leadership team blends deep educational experience with technical expertise. Their work remains grounded in the realities of teaching and learning, ensuring innovation is applied thoughtfully and where it genuinely adds value. With a strong focus on collaboration and long-term impact, they guide the direction of the group, supporting educators and creating better outcomes for students through purposeful use of technology.
